1. Eligibility

Age: Contestants must have been born between January 1, 1973 and December 31, 1993.
(Nationality, academic of residence are not qualifying factors.) |

| 4. How to apply |
Applicants must send the following materials (1) to (4) to the office of Asia Preliminary Competition at Japan Tosti Istituto.
The application can be completed and submitted online at this page.
(1) Application form and song list form (Complete application and attach a passport-style photograph.)
The application form and the song list form can be downloaded from here.
(2) Two photographs (in addition to that on the application) taken within six months.
* 4x3cm, head-and-shoulder shots inscribed with the applicant's name on the back
(3) Proof of the applicant's date of birth
(Copy of passport, driver's license or family register)
(4) Return-mail envelope (size: 12x23.5 cm)
* Inscribe contact information, address, name and telephone number.
Notes
* Submissions should be sent by registered mail, express courier or other method providing proof of delivery.
* Applications may be refused in cases of glaring inadequacies in submitted materials.
* No responsibility will be borne for any damage or loss of application materials in the post. Applicants are advised to make copies of all submitted materials.
* Submitted materials will not be returned to applicants.

| 6. How to pay entry fees |
|
Please be sure to pay the first elimination round entry fee of JPY 17,000 using one of the following methods by July 31 (Sat.), 2010.

* The applicant shall bear the costs of all bank and postal charges.
* Entry fees for the second elimination round of JPY 20,000 shall be paid in cash at the second elimination round entry on-site after contestant has passed the first elimination round.

| 7. Expenses |
* All expenses related to participation, including transportation, accommodations and piano accompanists, shall be borne by contestant.
* Official piano accompanists designated by the organizer will be provided free of charge.

| 8. Other Matters |
Visa acquisition:
Contestants requiring visas to appear at the 2010 Asia Preliminary are responsible for obtaining the necessary travel documents to enter Japan. The same applies in the case of accompanists. Contestants and accompanists should contact the office of the 2010 Asia Preliminary when a letter of invitation or similar document is required.
Insurance:
Contestants are responsible for providing their own insurance if deemed necessary by them for coverage of personal illness or injury, and/or accidents, fire, theft or damage to their baggage or other belongings.
Copyright and related rights:
All rights relating to audio/visual recording, broadcasting, performances, publishing or personal likenesses connected with any performance given as a part of the competition itself, the presentation of prizes, or the concert to be held at the end of the competition shall belong to the sponsor.
Compliance with Japanese law:
These application guidelines are prepared based on the rules of the International Francesco Paolo Tosti Singing Competition Asia Preliminary 2010. Any issues arising in regard to the competition shall be resolved in accordance with the laws of Japan.
