Outline of
competition
In celebration of the 150th anniversary of the birth of the man known as the father of modern Italian song, the International Francesco Paolo Tosti Singing Competition was launched in 1996 under the sponsorship of the Istituto Nazionale Tostiano in Francesco Paolo Tosti’s birthplace of Ortona, Italy.
The Asia Preliminary 2010 will grant the top three representatives from Asia the opportunity to compete at the International Francesco Paolo Tosti Singing Competition in Italy. In addition, the Asia Preliminary 2010 will celebrate the city of Nara in commemoration of its 1300th anniversary as the Heijo-kyo capital.
We hope that this preliminary to the competition will provide an opportunity not only to introduce the songs of Tosti, but also those of Japan, and to share Japanese culture and friendship with the world.
