Contestants will be selected based on an initial evaluation of submitted documents and CD, MD or cassette tape.
The competition will comprise first, second and final elimination rounds.
The first elimination round will be a private one and the second and final elimination rounds will be open to the public. |

Contestants may bring their own piano accompanists or choose a Japanese or Italian piano accompanist provided by the organizers of the competition.
Note: Contestants will be permitted some time to meet and consult with accompanists. |

Contestants choose a Japanese or Italian piano accompanist provided by the organizers of the competition.
Note: Contestants will be permitted some time to meet and consult with accompanists. |
| Final elimination round |
Isabella Crisante will be the accompanist (official pianist of Istituto Nazionale Tostiano).
Note: Meetings and rehearsals with the accompanist will be held at the competition venue. |
Note: Piano accompanists officially chosen by the organizer will be provided free of charge. |
