1. Entry
procedure
Persons who pass the initial evaluation shall return the letter of intent to appear at the competition by September 4 (Tue.), 2007.
Those who do not meet the deadline for this entry procedure will forfeit their right to appear in the competition.
2. Competition
entry fees

The amount of JPY 17,000 required to appear in the first elimination round shall be paid by credit card or bank transfer by September 4 (Tue.), 2007.
Persons residing outside of Japan can also pay the fee for the first elimination round in cash(Japanese Yen), prior to competing on the day of competition.

(1) Credit card
Send the letter of intent inscribed with name of the credit card company (applicable cards: Visa, MasterCard, JCB, American Express or Diners Club), the credit card number, expiration date and cardholder name.

The applicant shall bear the costs of all bank and postal charges.
All competition entry fees are non-refundable.
Note: Entry fees for the second elimination round shall be paid in cash (Japanese Yen) when registering to appear in the second elimination round, after having passed the first elimination round.
3. Adjudication

Adjudication will be conducted by a judging committee lead by a chairperson.
Contestants and judges on the judging committee shall have no contact with one another from the start of the first elimination round until the end of the final elimination round.
The decisions of the judges are final.
Winners in the vocal category of other international competitions (first, second or third place) will compete from the second elimination round.

4. Competition
results
The results of adjudication will be announced in the following manner.
First elimination round After judging on October 6 (Sat.) By posting in entrance hall of the competition venue
Second elimination round After judging on October 7 (Sun.) By posting in entrance hall of the competition venue
Final elimination round After judging on October 8 (Mon., holiday) By announcement in the competition venue
Note: The Tosti Piano Accompanist Prize, Akishino Japanese Song Prize and Akishino Japanese Song Friendship Prize will be posted in the entrance hall of the competition venue after judging on October 6 (Sat.).
Note: Results will also be posted online.

Certificates of participation will be presented to winners of the above prizes.
Winners (first to fifth places) are given the opportunity to perform at a concert to be put on by the Institute after the Asia Preliminary.
Fourth and fifth place contestants will receive JPY 100,000 additionally should they compete in the final in Italy.

Note: Prizes other than those above will also be presented.

(3) Other
Prize winners and others will receive commemorative gifts.

Note: Prize money amounts awarded will be less tax in cases where withholding of tax at source is required in accordance with Japanese law.
6. Winners'
concert
The sponsor will hold a winners' concert at which the winners will perform.
7. Other
matters
All contestants are responsible for their own and their accompanists' travel and lodging expenses, etc.
Pianists are responsible for supplying their own sheet music.
Additional
articles
(1) Support of accommodation for foreign contestants who reside outside of Japan

Organizer will bear accommodation expenses (basic single room charge and breakfast) for the duration indicated below (maximum), provided that they stay at the hotels designated by the Preliminary Office.

Starting from the day which is one day prior to his or her first participation to the Preliminary until the morning of the following day of the end of the final elimination (maximum 4 nights)

(2) Free Tosti Seminar for participants to the Preliminary

The Tosti seminar will be held free of charge for the contestants who have not been successful in the first or second elimination as follows.
